Squeeze Pin Technology in HPDC: Scientific Control of Local Shrinkage Porosity
Squeeze Pin Technology in HPDC: Scientific Control of Local Shrinkage Porosity In High Pressure Die Casting, every porosity problem is not the same. Many times, shrinkage porosity is treated like gas porosity. Because of this, teams waste time in unnecessary trials, die corrections, venting changes, vacuum changes, and process adjustments. This course is designed to give HPDC engineers a clear and practical understanding of when, why, and how squeeze pin technology should be applied in die casting. The main focus of this course is localized shrinkage porosity control, especially in thick sections, mounting bosses, pressure-tight areas, oil leakage zones, and hotspot regions where normal intensification pressure cannot work effectively after gate freeze. This course will also clearly explain where squeeze pin technology should not be used. Squeeze pin is not a solution for trapped air, poor venting, poor vacuum, oxide films, dirty metal, or general gas porosity. ...;
